SLEEP HERE TONIGHT!

Old Solomon was restless
in his afternoon siesta--
He awoke with fear in his face
and something to say.

His was an old man's dream
which made him seem to be
a woman of long ago.

She had a baby in the grave.
She came one night
to the cemetery, to lay flowers
at the stone and pray for the child.

She couldn't get up from the grave--
She had caught her apron strings
in the ground somehow.

There was crying and she heard a voice
that said "Mother?"
The woman fainted.

When she awoke, she heard crying again:
"Mother, sleep here tonight!"
