GRATEFUL PRAISE

MY GOD, in the shadow of the cross, I gave up and walked away. I cast my hope to the ground. Yet it was divine love that anointed me, O King, the medicine that healed my wounds. As you slept in the grave, love awaited the dawn. Love was the morning star on the third day. If you had faltered beneath the olive trees, O Lord, the world's hopes and dreams would be Gethsemane's dust.

I WILL place my confidence in you O my Jesus. I will bear my debt to you with honor; I will venerate your cross gladly. I will glorify God in the Spirit, saying, "I thank you Father for all that is seen and unseen! I thank you for the mystery of salvation that enfolds me." O God, empty me of vanity. Show me the glory of the name before whom every knee must bend.

SHOULD ALL be desolate, my Saviour, and the whole world become your enemy, it will be as a leaf falling to the ground. One mere word of adoration will hurl the mountain of sacrilege into the sea! Now is the hour of your glory. Now is the hour of praise. Let us shout your name in the cities and bless you in the fields. In the name of Christ, Amen.
